Bequest

A charitable bequest is a gift that is made through a will or living trust.

Ways you can define the amount of the bequest to Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes Foundation:

Outright Bequest:  A gift of a specific amount or a percentage of the estate, shares of stock or real estate.

Residual Bequest: Name the charity to receive the rest, residue and remainder of the estate.  This approach assures that the family will be taken care of before the estate makes a bequest to the charity.

Contingent Bequest:  Name the charity to receive a gift only if certain conditions are met.  For example, a donation is provided to the charity only if a particular heir does not survive.

It is important for the bequest to be accurately and clearly described so that the charity can carry out your wishes as intended. Please consult with your attorney and contact us to verify that your wishes can be fulfilled.
