First, I want to thank Mr. Wayne for showing us boys how to become men. I want to thank him for being a mentor and father figure for all the boys that come into Pineland. I want to thank the sheriffs for all they have done and continue to do for us which allows us to go places that we would not have gone otherwise. I thank my house parents for being there when we need them and for good food. Pineland is a safe place. You don’t have to ask for anything because you are taken care of, and you know where the next meal is coming from.
This year I was able to play soccer and was named Rookie of the Year. It is through the soccer team that I met Mr. Jeff, my soccer coach. He is in the process of adopting me. I am looking forward to having a new family soon. Many thanks to the Youth Homes for helping me unite with a permanent family.
